WCA was engaged to assist a large private school in rebranding and implementing an efficient and trusted HR/IR function. To achieve this, a high level review of the people and culture aspects of the business was undertaken to determine and prioritise the College’s HR and IR requirements. The comprehensive People and Culture Audit reviewed infrastructure, documentation, process flow and capabilities in each of the core areas of HR/IR, culminating in the provision of a report summarising findings and incorporating recommendations for short, medium and long term HR/IR priorities.
Throughout this process a WCA Senior Consultant was based at the college two days per week in a short-term caretaker assignment. Our Senior Consultant was able to establish rapport quickly and effectively, becoming a respected and trusted advisor within the organisation. Our Senior Consultant created a positive human resources culture of support and managed delivery and implementation of the following activities:
- Assume responsibility and progress the Enterprise Agreement (EA);
- Provide College management and staff with on-site and on-call HR/IR support and manage the current HR Advisor and the provision of the people and culture activities throughout the school; and
- Assess the current capacity and capabilities of the existing HR Advisor.
In addition to the above activities, WCA also assisted the College with the recruitment and selection of their Director of People and Culture, working closely and in consultation with the college’s Principal to develop and deliver a customised and unique recruitment and selection process.
All agreed HR/IR activities for the contract period were successfully delivered including the Enterprise Agreement and the People and Culture Audit Report providing comprehensive insight and ongoing priorities for the Principal and newly appointed Director of People and Culture.
WCA has been engaged by the Director People and Culture since this assignment to assist with short-term project HR work.
