WCA Solutions HR Consulting team was engaged by a national leader in their industry to lead their organisation restructure and redesign project which included engagement across the business to align Position Descriptions of more than 50 different positions across 6 functions. The Client explained the challenge inefficiencies in delivering work, negative behaviours and interactions between employees due to the ambiguity of responsibilities and lack of leadership and accountability was causing. For example, constant shifting of tasks and responsibilities between departments, lack of ownership, gaps and overlaps.

The Client employs more than 400 professionals, spread across several departments, inclusive of Operations, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Commercial and Specialists within their market segments. It was identified that the current organisation structure was dysfunctional, and position descriptions were outdated for the current and future objectives and clients. An audit including interviews with key stakeholders across the business determined that the current structure was resulting in a lack of clarity in expectations, ownership and alignment across functions was impacting client outcomes, inefficiencies, and culture throughout the business.

Consultation sessions were held between the Client leaders and key stakeholders to capture their feedback to assist in the organisation redesign recommendations, Core Behaviours and Values Framework and Position Descriptions, Classification System and a Remuneration Framework. Once the framework was established, the consultation process commenced with broader stakeholder groups, providing the opportunity to gain clarity from the employee’s perspective on their core responsibilities and accountabilities. During the consultation process WCA Solutions challenged and facilitated healthy debate ensuring each function, department, and role had clear line of slight of their duties, responsibilities and accountabilities.

WCA Solutions provided proactive guidance, addressed potential risks, and clarified any ambiguities, guaranteeing a seamless and efficient implementation.
