Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations
Grainne is an experienced Human Resources Professional with over 5 years generalist experience in the mining, construction and aviation industries.
Prior to joining WCA in 2019, Grainne’s most recent role was as HR Advisor for Bristow Helicopters Australia and Airnorth, based out of Darwin, Northern Territory. Grainne was responsible for partnering with key stakeholders within the business and delivering strong people strategies in line with business priorities.
Prior to this Grainne worked for Decmil’s Construction and Engineering Division in NT in a recruitment and HR Advisory role and her initial role was with international recruiting firm JDA Applus Velosi focussing on significant blue-collar recruitment for Komatsu, Watpac and similar mining and construction clients.
Through her career Grainne has gained experience with the following:
Managing end to end recruitment for Operators through to Leadership Team and Management Team level appointments;
Training, coaching and support to managers ensuring they are informed of their obligations when managing HR and IR issues;
Providing expertise in relation to performance appraisals, disciplinary procedures, disputes and dismissals;
Providing advice to resolve complex workplace matters such as misconduct, grievances and underperformance;
Managing high risk and complex employee relations matters including organisational restructures and redundancies to align with the strategic direction of the company;
Leading formal investigations into employee misconduct, including harassment and workplace bullying;
Participating in Enterprise Bargaining negotiations with key internal stakeholders and employee bargaining representatives for multiple disciplines within the business; and
Managing Fair Work Australia and Employee Organisation dealings and complaints including unfair dismissal claims, disputes and anti-bullying applications.
Grainne currently supports a number of WCA clients from both their office locations and the WCA office.
