Marija

Marija is an employee relations specialist with over 20 years of experience across construction, mining and oil and gas.  Marija has a unique range of experience and skills in managing people, systems, processes and budgets.  She is a results driven professional who has a proven track record of delivering outcomes in challenging situations in management roles and in recent years as a human resource and employee relations consultant to resource clients.  She is well known for her strong communication, negotiation and problem solving skills and for getting the job done.

Marija brings extensive knowledge and experience in major resource project management.  She has worked as a Human Resource/Industrial Relations Manager for VDM Construction and CB&I Constructors and as a Principle Employee Relations Consultant with Australian Mines and Metals Association. Her resource project experience extends but is not limited to Wheatstone, Gorgon, Christmas Creek, Sino Iron, Yandi and the new Perth Stadium.

Marija was engaged by Civmec Construction and Engineering during 2015 and 2016 to consult and support the operational team on all concerns, queries and issues related to HR, IR and ER during construction of the new Perth Stadium.  The Project Manager said: “Marija’s influence was not only enormously effective but also contributed to an incident [IR/ER] free environment and ensured the workforce was harmonious and well informed throughout the build programme”.

Marija’s resource infrastructure management roles brought her into contact with Traditional Owners  (TOs) in the Pilbara. She was responsible for the development of Aboriginal Employment and Business Plans and local engagement strategies. Marija has a long standing relationship with the Buurabalayji Thalanyji TOs and has supported their business initiatives and community projects.


Marija joined WCA in 2019 as a Senior Consultant and provides guidance and support to our clients across a broad range of HR and ER Management issues.
